The Our Stargate Saturday Night Dinner

Here you’ll find Thor overseeing 30 Our Stargaters as they drink and make merry at a local Pasadena establishment and make their nefarious plans for converging upon the convention center on Sunday. DJ continues her love affair with moose … well, actually, Annie once again caught DJ unawares underneath a moose. Funny how that always seems to just work out! Poor DJ. She worked so hard to pull this party together and then we abuse her. Heh heh. Thor was obviously thrilled to meet our bus driver from the hotel and it turned out they were kindred spirits. You can see the photos of Thor welcoming folks aboard the bus and helping to drive the dark city streets. Thor obviously has no shame and is not faithful to O’Neill. Do not look at photo creationcon00104 if you are easily shocked. Our bus driver definitely developed a close, personal relationship with Thor! I understand that the next day the bus driver was lamenting the fact that Thor hadn’t called him. Well, of course not. Thor may be a bit of a slut puppy, but he *does* live with me and Leah.

Many of the Our Stargaters retired back to the hotel to DJ’s room where much merriment ensued as they watched Sumuru. We could hear them next door. Apparently so could lots of other hotel guests. And security. Ahem. We were supposed to be watching Sumuru in our room, as well. I uploaded some photos of the dinner to Our Stargate and those of us lounging around decided to call it a night instead. We bid good night to our remaining guests, they left, and we closed and locked the door and left DJ and the others to deal with security on their own.

And look! Check out creationcon0376 to see what Sam Carter will be wearing in Season 8! We have it on good authority! We saw this little number on Hollywood Blvd. For real. And I wouldn’t be shocked to see female members of the SGC dressed in it by the time they’re done.

The Stargate Brunch

From the ridiculous to the sublime. <g> A wonderful brunch at Delmonicos featuring shrimp and crab legs and all sorts of goodies. And best of all Michael Shanks and Amanda Tapping attended from beginning to end. The only bad part: they started visiting with folks in the back rooms and by the time they got up to the front rooms, time was running so short, they basically snapped a quick photo with each of us, said hello and we were being chased out of the restaurant. The good news was that those of us in the front of the restaurant at least got to eat first and the food was divine. We also got to see Michael and Amanda when they first came in, at least briefly. I understand that those in the back, although they got to visit a little longer, ended up with hardly any food because the restaurant wasn’t replacing the food on the buffet quickly enough. So, you either got to talk to Michael and Amanda and no food or you got to eat and barely got to talk to Michael and Amanda. I was happy with what we got. Some of the photos below have a bit of a grainy quality. That’s because I was shooting clear across the room as their time was running out and I was shooting right into the sun. The metering was way off and I had no filter with me. C’est le vie!

By the way, that look of utter hilarity (or is it terror?) on Michael’s face in creationcon00102 is the moment when he spotted Leah and pointed at her. Leah later was silly enough to slip between Michael and Amanda for a photo and declare: “Oh, goodie! Dessert!” That would be photo creationcon00146.
